FILTRO, one of our flagship products for roll slit optimization, has been acquired by POLYPLEX, Rayong, Thailand.
POLYPLEX is a renowned Indian group making BOPP, Blown PP/PE, CPP, and BOPET films used primarily for packaging, labelling, and lamination. POLYPLEX Thailand’s installed capacity is:
• Thin PET film – 42,000 metric tons
• CPP film – 10,000 metric tons
• Metallized film – 21,700 metric tons
• Thick PET film -28,800 metric tons
FILTRO was chosen in 2005 for slitting optimisation. FILTRO was completely migrated to the latest technology to offer algorithm improvements and state-of-the-art functionality for the plastic film slitting process. The package is now part of the TANGRAM Integrated Solution for companies producing and cutting plastic films. Informa developed TANGRAM in partnership with BONFANTI.
POLYPLEX (Thailand) started working with the new software in parallel with the old version to guarantee a smooth change. The migration lasted just a few days for reconfiguration parameters and reports, and the plant was able to plan and execute the scheduled jobs from the first day.

About POLYPLEX (Thailand)
Polyplex group has the sixth largest capacity Polyester (PET) film globally. Polyplex Thailand is the largest manufacturing unit with capability of producing both thin and thick PET film in a wide range of thickness and surface properties covering a spectrum of applications.
Having begun with a single PET thin film line in 2003, PTL doubled its capacity in the same year by adding the second thin PET film line with a similar capacity and followed it up in 2004/2005 with the commissioning of a batch-process resin plant and a continuous-process resin plant, thereby making it completely self-sufficient in PET resin. In its first foray into the thick PET film segment in 2013, PTL set up a Thick PET film line and batch resin plant in Rayong, Thailand adjacent to its existing facility with an annual capacity of 28,800 MT for the film plant and 28,000 MT for the resin plant. Polyplex has further diversified its portfolio to include Cast Polypropylene (CPP) film and Blown films in its Rayong facility.
