After successfully installing the FILTRO – Slitting optimiser, INFORMA is proud to announce new mathematical algorithms to solve a packing and warehouse problem.
The new algorithm is facing a widespread problem in the packing area.
The packing area is often congested in a film production company.
FILTRO was already able to reduce the spread of the order during run execution. This new algorithm improved the previous one by introducing an “open pallet”. The scenario is based on multiple reels on the same pallet (for ex. 2,4,6 reels/pallet). This algorithm improves the packing area that was a real bottleneck.
The result: Informa proposed to SRF this new feature to solve the real problem and find a suitable solution without losing waste or introducing different setup changes. Today we are very proud to say that the new algorithm improves the situation in the packing area without the introduction of a buffer (so hardware costs)
INFORMA wants to thank SRF for executing many test cases to certify the excellent quality of the new algorithm.
INFORMA ’s significant experience installing FILTRO in many film and paper production systems allows us to state that SRF EUROPE KFT will confidently obtain substantial improvements. With just a few hours of training, SRF EUROPE KFT started using the software and immediately got a saving in terms of scrap and time required to have a slitting plan in production.
